The day kicked off with an orientation circuit class by Meech, Michael, Luis and Kelvin taking participants through their paces. A brief intro of Group X classes and tips on class technique preceded Luis getting the party started by salsa dancing to the funked-up version of Teresa Teng's "The Moon Represents My Heart". Coinciding with this was Raul's high-energy Cycle class of hills, sprints…burning muscles and sweaty bodies!
BODYPUMP™ saw Meech and Andrés take to the stage in their stunning red Pure T-shirts - which everyone wanted one of! The dynamic duo pulled out all the old favourites such as "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" - Shania Twain, "Get This Party Started"- P!nk, "Jump" - Van Halen. The last tune even lured new Group Fitness Manager Michael Baird into the studio to sing along and tap his feet.
Then it was 50 minutes of tuck jumping, straight leg kicking and high kneeing in BODYATTACK™. All 30 participants gallantly kept up with Juan and Andrés as the "Columbian twins" provided high- and low-impact options for everyone. From hardcore to quietly strong, Juan and Andrés toned things down with a unique blend of yoga, tai chi and Pilates in BODYBALANCE™. Their display of flexibility and fluidity attests to how versatile these two awe-inspiring instructors are.
Step brought Michael out of retirement, and in-sync with Kelvin and Raul, the class was buzzing to a cleverly choreographed routine. The finale to "Heart of Asia" got everyone screaming and crying out for more - the group could have done with another hour!
BODYCOMBAT™ tipped the scales with over 40 participants, the largest class of the day. With their effervescent charm, Kelvin and Luis led participants through an all-level mixed martial arts workout. A combination of kicks, punches and Muay Thai moves got the heart rate going and the sweat pouring.
A group of 35 eased into the Dance Fiesta with carefree hearts and a spring in their step. It was a great compilation of different dance styles and the first time ever that Giselle, Luis and Andrés have taught together. Super entertaining and ultra-dynamic, thanks to the expertise of our 3 dancers-instructors-choreographers! All participants grasped the routines quickly and it suddenly looked like a rehearsal scene from a Broadway stage performance... |
